In general one to three years. Lighter pigment tones and those clients with oily skin fade more quickly. Wear sunscreen to protect your cosmetic tattoo for best results. Skin regeneration rates are unique to each client. As we age our cellular regenerations slows. Avoid Glycolic acid or Retinol treatments on the area tattooed, these chemical exfoliators will lighten tattoos over time.  For existing clients, a one-session Refresh appointment is available within one year, and within 2 years.

Any treatment where skin is broken is considered to be a permanent change. Permanent alone would be misleading. Cosmetic tattooing does have to be maintained from time to time. During design careful attention is paid to skin undertones and customized pigment selection, using high quality Canadian or American pigment. Most of our clients' cosmetic tattoos stay true to the tones implanted. In a few cases, with factors such as lifestyle and anemia, colours may fade to different tones, depending on the client’s response to the pigments. The touch up session is used to re-analyze how your skin has responded to the pigment and make any adjustments.

It is best to book at least 2 weeks away from events or photos, ideally a month away.

As the healing period is very important to the overall finish of your cosmetic tattoo during this time it is important to avoid: humid climates, swimming, and other excess moisture. Cosmetic tattooing is darkest while in the healing stages.

This is not a comprehensive list. If in doubt please check with your Doctor as your health is most important. Certain medical conditions/prescriptions can prevent you from having cosmetic tattooing: Accutane within the last 6 to 12 months. Blood thinners, or bleeding disorders. Pregnancy or Nursing. Diabetes. Psoriasis. Epilepsy. Allergies to Lidocane/Tetracaine/Benzocaine/Epinephrine. A history of Keloid scaring or fragile skin. Or, other serious medical problems.

Avoid waxing, and skin treatments for a week before. This includes Alpha-hydroxy, Retinol and Glycolic Acid. Avoid tanning for at least two weeks (sunburned skin cannot be tattooed.) It is best to have Botox or Fillers done at least two weeks before. Leading up to your appointment it is important that you are well fed and rested. The night before and day of your appointment: Do not work out. Do not use any Aspirin or Ibuprofen, alcohol, Vitamins or Niacin. They may thin your blood. If you have a specific brow shape or look in mind, please feel free to bring photos. For Lip procedures: If you have ever had cold sores it is best to see your Doctor or Pharmacist a week before and pick up a medication to prevent them. Lip procedures will not create cold sores, but tattooing in your lips can stimulate them if you have already had the virus in the past.

No. Do not apply makeup, oils, beauty products, or anything aside from the prescribed aftercare. It can negatively affect the overall finish of your healed tattoo. Once your skin has flaked and is fully closed, you can resume your normal routine. Once healed, you may use a little pencil or powder if you've lost a small piece of your brow tattoo, prior to the touch up perfecting appointment.

The initial healing period is about a week and a half. This varies for each client. Your new tattoo will form a thin crust-like scab. This crust will darken over the week until it flakes off. Some clients experience slight inflammation the first day or two, which can be lessened with a cold pack.  While healing, it is important to wash your tattoo and keep it very clean. Do not pick at it. Keep it gently moist (on day one for lips, and day three for other tattooing). Avoid all other moisture steam, swimming, sweating, etc, until your skin is fully healed. If your tattoo is allowed to become saturated with moisture, the crust will become thick which will result in less than optimal retention.

Please give 72 hours notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment. If 72 hours notice is given your deposit may be transferable. If insufficient notice or no notice is given to move or cancel an appointment the deposit is forfeit.

Touch up sessions must have a booking date of at least 30 days after your first session. This ensures that all the pigment has settled and your skin is fully healed. The touch up is available for $100.00 plus GST up to 90 days after the first initial session. It is each client’s responsibility to book in for their touch up in order to secure an appointment date within 90 days.

No they do not. To achieve the most natural results it is best to work with existing brow hair as much possible. Some clients grow their brow hair out before an appointment. Any strays outside of the new brow design will be removed during the appointment.

To perfect a cosmetic tattoo clients should expect to need two sessions. There are some clients who heal perfectly with only one appointment, and yet a few others who need a small third session. The second session, called a touch up, is offered for $100.00 plus GST within 90 days of a client’s initial session. It may be used for one small spot, or a full pass to darken or increase density.

If you have an existing tattoo that you would like to have corrected, you must have a consultation prior to booking an appointment. In person, or online with clear pictures sent in. Corrections have limited options, we are only able to go larger or darker, and will not be accepted unless a positive outcome may be possible. It is not possible to cover a poorly aged powder brow with microblading alone. Those with existing work that only needs to be Refreshed will be accepted on a case by case determination.

Results vary for each individual. By skin type and lifestyle as well as aftercare. Following proper aftercare is essential. Microbladed brows are always crispest when fresh. Dry skin generally is able to heal in a crisp "hair stroke". Very oily skin will heal diffused and with more of a powder finish. For those with very dark, or oily skin with larger pores it would be best to consider a Powder Ombre brow. Another alternative is a combination of Microblading with shading, called Blade and Shade. Those with medical contradictions should not have cosmetic tattooing. Please read entire FAQ to determine suitability of cosmetic tattooing for you. Fresh Face Cosmetic Tattoo's aim is to achieve a high standard of client satisfaction, with great attention to detail. However, factors outside of our control influence the final result. How each client retains and breaks down pigment over time varies. Therefore results are not guaranteed. These factors include, genetics and skin type, aftercare, lifestyle, health of client etc.
